Summer Butt Exposure . . . Are you fit and ready?

Your rear end get more exposure during the warm and sunny season!

 womanrunningdp

Butts….Buns….Fannies….call ‘em whatever you want.  Our backsides are more exposed now that summer is here. Shorts and swimsuits hide very little. Those long winter and Covid-isolated days of consuming cookies, brownies, chips, or other comfort treats are now in full view of everyone at the pool, lake, or beach. For this reason, I am going to dedicate three articles with suggested exercises to help tone those “now-exposed” body parts. Know that specific exercises will not necessarily reduce the fat you have accumulated on a specific area. There is no such thing as “spot-reducing.” Only by reining in the calories and creating a calorie deficit day in and day out will the fat disappear. Vigorous aerobic exercise burns calories and can reduce overall body fat. Our genetics determines where the fat comes off. However, exercises targeting a specific muscle group will tone those muscles and create a tighter look. Combining the right nutrition with the right exercises will yield results. For this reason, summer is a great time to enjoy the refreshing Body Wise Elance shake for a nutritious and low-calorie meal.

Exercising for great glutes can include both aerobic and strength work:

1.  Walking – walk very briskly so that you can push your glutes to the max.  Add some hills or stairs.

2.  Jogging – like walking, hit the hills or try some interval sprints. Locate an open stadium to run or walk stairs.

3.  Biking or Spinning – increase the resistance so that you have to pump hard, or even stand to pump.

4.  Squats – stand with your feet shoulder width apart and lower into a squat as if you were going to sit into a chair. Keep the torso upright. Return to a standing position. Holding some weights increases the work.

5.  Hip extensions – stand facing a wall, placing hands on the wall, and with a straight back push one leg out behind you as high as it can go (while keeping the leg straight). Hold for a few seconds. You can also do this down on the floor on all fours, and simply extending one leg back and up. Adding an ankle weight increases the work. Work each leg.

Doing these exercises daily will help tone your glutes. Remember that the basic shape of our rear ends is dictated by our genetics. However, with some work, you can get a tighter look whether your butt is wide, flat, high, or low.

Fat but Fit Myth

Fat But Fit ... A Myth

According to new research, the negative effects of excess body fat on heart health can't be canceled out by maintaining an active lifestyle. In the past, some studies had suggested that being physically fit could mitigate the negative effects of being overweight on heart health. However, this is not the case, according to a new study recently published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, a journal of the European Society of Cardiology. Author of the study, Alejandro Lucia, stated conclusively: "One cannot be 'fat but healthy.' This was the first nationwide analysis to show that being regularly active is not likely to eliminate the detrimental health effects of excess body fat. Our findings refute the notion that a physically active lifestyle can completely negate the deleterious effects of overweight and obesity." Researchers used data from 527,662 working adults from Spain with an average age of 42. They were put into groups according to activity level and groups by body weight. The study showed greater cardiovascular risk for overweight and obese participants compared with those of a normal weight, regardless of how much they exercised. Participants who were obese and active were twice as likely to have high cholesterol, four times as likely to have diabetes, and five times as likely to have high blood pressure as those who were normal weight but inactive. "Exercise does not seem to compensate for the negative effects of excess weight," Lucia said. "This finding was also observed overall in both men and women."

With close to 39 percent of U.S. adults obese and another 30 percent overweight, losing excess body fat could be the key to reducing the overwhelming degree of chronic disease, suffering, and health-care expense in our country. “While the controversy about the precise contribution of weight versus exercise to cardiovascular health will likely continue, to optimize health and minimize the risk of cardiovascular disease, patients should pay attention to both: maintaining a healthy weight and being physically active," said Dr. Anthony Rosenzweig, chief of the cardiology division at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Losing Weight in Fattening Times part 1

DPRBWHomemadesaladblog

Losing Weight in Fattening Times

Losing weight continues to top the list for most common New Year’s resolutions for 2021. To be effective, a New Year’s resolution cannot be a fleeting thought. It needs substance and a strong belief that it will be successful. It is essential that a large, ultimate goal be broken into smaller, achievable goals that are realistic and sustainable. Strategies must be in place. Today, and for the next two Thursdays, I will focus on what it takes to lose weight and maintain that loss for a lifetime. I will share some strategies. Successful weight management is the result of lifelong integration of three components: (1) Food Management; (2) Emotional Management; (3) Exercise Management. And each component requires strategies. Today’s topic is Food Management.

We must eat to sustain life, and eating is one of life’s pleasures. However, consistently consuming more calories than are needed results in creeping obesity. Managing food intake in our modern world is a challenge. Why? Portions and serving sizes have doubled, and in some cases tripled, in the past 40 years. Snacking throughout the day has become the norm, resulting in mindless eating of extra calories. Food is everywhere----gas stations, mall kiosks, bookstores, vending machines. Advertising by fast-food chains is big business, and drive-thrus make for easy access. Food management begins with the understanding of basic, good nutrition and the social and environmental influences that confront you. Consuming less sugar and saturated fats, and more protein, fruits, and vegetables can become achievable daily goals.

Immune Health Alert

                  ImmuneSystemModulatoraie10

Health Alert! Immune System Preparedness is Critical during Virus Season . . .

It's a dangerous world out there. New threats emerge daily.  Is your immune system in fighting shape to defend against these       challenges to your good health?  All that stands between you and a lot of misery is your immune system. It just makes sense to do   everything you can to fortify your immune defenses. This includes eating well, reducing stress, exercise, restful sleep ... and   nutritional supplements. *

Now one very special nutrient can help support your immune response. When you take it every day you are focused on making   immune health a top priority.
It's not a vitamin or mineral. It's not an herb or amino acid. It's not a probiotic or colostrum. You won't find it in the food you eat.   Yet Ai/E¹º is "The Ultimate Nutrient" you need to support your immune system. There's nothing else like it.
Ai/E¹º is antigen-infused whey extract. It’s the sole ingredient in Super Ai/E¹º and a key ingredient in AG Immune.

What makes Ai/E¹º so special?

Unlike vitamin C and other antioxidants that simply boost immune response, Ai/E¹º helps modulate or fine-tune both innate and adaptive immune responses. So your immune system can accurately target the hundreds of threats you face each day.
