This is the season of gift giving and receiving as many enter into the Holy Days that create more introspection, focus on gratitude, and sharing of spirit, love, and kindness.
You might feel this is your favorite time of year or you might feel it to be busy and over scheduled or you might get stressed as you are thrown into family dynamics that feel uncomfortable for you.
And we want to wish you peace and tranquility. May you have a wonderful time with family and friends.
Sincerely, Dr. Paul Robinson and the office staff.

HOME HEALTHCARE OF THE MONTH
Clean your washing machine regularly to prevent mold and mildew growth.
If you smell a rotten egg, sulfur smell in your clothes or laundry room, it's a sign that mold and mildew are growing. Washing your clothes over and over again isn't the solution to that problem.
Keeping the lid closed traps moisture, which can lead to built-up bacteria and a rotten smell. And even more mildew may be hiding if you use the cold-water setting a lot. If you haven't cleaned it lately, it may have mold, mildew and more.
Here’s how to give your washing machine a deep clean:
1. Leave the lid open if you're not washing clothes
2. Remove your wet clothes right away
3. Dry damp seals and parts after each use
4. Only use detergent powder
5. Mix a solution of vinegar and hot water, run a wash cycle on the hottest setting and clean and dry all gaskets and folds when it’s done.

Older adults (ages 55-75) who took a daily multivitamin and mineral supplement with zinc, vitamin C and vitamin D in a 12 week study experienced feeling under the weather for shorter periods of time and with less severe symptoms than a control group that received a placebo.*
These new findings from Oregon State University researchers were published in the journal Nutrients.
As people get older, the risk of vitamin and mineral deficiencies that contribute to age-related immune system deficiencies rises. Across the US and Canada research suggests more than 33% of older adults are deficient.
"A decline in the immune system is most often characterized by increased levels of inflammation, reduced innate immune function and reduced T-cell function," said Adrian Gombart, professor of biochemistry and biophysics at Oregon State University, and a principal investigator at the Linus Pauling Institute. "Since multiple nutrients support immune function, older adults often benefit from multivitamin and mineral supplements."*
